NWAS Covid-19 Recovery program
The NWAS Covid-19 recovery programm is intended to provide diverse support avenues on the path to post COVID-19 recoveries, among the black community in North Wales as well as helping to further intergrate the black community into the wider community.
JamII 2 Project
The project is a contunicatiuon of the Jamii project and will help reduce health inequalities, improve access to health care, improve health and well-being amongst African communities (both physically and mentally). It will help individuals use creativity and self-expression to support well-being, and reduce social exclusion. the project is been lead by the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel (SSAP) working in partnership with the North Wales African Society (NWAS), SOEL Connect and the Jukebox Collective to deliver the ‘Jamii 2 Project’ in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport (South Wales) and Bangor (North Wales).
Culturally apporiate food parcel project
This project is aimed at supporting BAME residents spread across the various counties in North Wales (Gwynedd, Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire Wrexham and Flint) including mature University students with families and young adults who had been disproportionately affected by the impacts of COVID–19 & the recent rise in the cost of living.
NWAS Summer Workshops
This project is usually targeted at children ages 3 - 16, during the school summer break. Children under the guidance of a lead facilitator and volunteers will engange in various sessions of arts, crafts, dance, music, african & local language lessons, outdoor excursions and trips
